Not via text/email/IM, but either on the phone or in person?

This is a huge problem for AP and I.

Mine is a relatively new A (only a little over 2 months).

We like to talk in person. We only talk on the phone if there's an emergency message (from me - he would never call me unless he knew for a fact H wasn't around). We don't thrash out problems or even "talk deep" in our daily e-mails. Too easy to misunderstand, misconstrue and all that. We save it all for face to face.

We talked for almost two hours on the phone last night while he was driving back out of state (thank God for hands-free!), and had a really nice conversation.

We are currently working in the same building so we do get to talk regularly. We try to talk for a few minutes each day. Occasionally one or both of us is too busy and it will just be a quick email exchange instead of in person. Days when we are not too busy we can spend an hour or so talking. M-F only, no evenings, no wknds. He will occasionally call me at work from his work cell on the pretense of work, but not often. Too risky for a pattern to show up here since phone bills can be checked. We had been doing lunch every other week, but it has been several weeks now (I was on vacation, he was busy with work). We have planned lunch for this Thurs. At the end of August he will leave my building for 3-4 months so I am not sure how it will work out. He'll be on campus though. He will return to my bldg in the late Fall for another project for 6-9 months. Generally, he prefers to talk in person which I like. Glad you'll get to see AP soon!

you do know that text messages are saved and they can be traced, reprinted and held for evidence, yes?

i would be really careful with the texting. a lot of people don't realize how easy it is to get caught with texting habits so pervassive.

good luck with it all.
