Yeesh! This board seems to have gotten out of control! I just wanted to send some positive vibes your way - and Omaha, I adore you, but this is more for IS.

I met my current H when I was 20 and he was 32 - yep, just under 12 years. At that time, his kids were 7 and 18 months (twin boys). He left his marriage to be with me - although things were way rocky before we even met. Fast forward 16 years - we've been married for just over 12 years. I potty trained the twins . . .was there on their first day of school. My step-daughter and I are good friends. My husband's ex and her mother join us for the holidays so the kids don't bounce around. XW and I have sat together at little league games, school concerts and graduations. Yes, the early years were a bit rough, I admit that as young as I was, it was tough to take on a ready made family with the baggage of an ex-wife. But it absolutely can be done. My H is the love of my life - have things always been perfect? Of course not, but what worthwhile endeavor is without bumps?

The point behind my ramblings is this - yes, you are young. But chronological age is not a measure of maturity. Embrace your youth and enjoy every minute of this experience. And don't let the naysayers get you down. When my relationship with H lasted longer than 6 months and my parents found out that he'd been married, they locked me out of my own house over holiday break. Now, they adore him. People will say and do what people will say and do. At the end of the day, all that matters is that you're happy.

Best of luck - avoid the lurkers - lots of hugs!
