We'll see what she has to say about my ability to divorce H now or if I absolutely have to wait until he's working fulltime. One thing I don't know if I should do or not, though. I am, by nature, a very honest person. And I've always heard that you need to be really straight up with lawyers. So, should I tell her about my A???

I'm sure there are others on here with more knowledge about this than I have, but it seems to me you'd want to tell your lawyer about it. It would be far better than letting it come out later, if somehow H brings it into court. (I don't know if he knows about it or not, but you never know what can happen...) I'm sure your attorney won't bring it into the case if H's attorney doesn't; after all, your lawyer is on YOUR side!

Be completely honest with your attorney. There is nothing you could tell your attorney that he/she has not already heard before and they are not there to judge you but to ensure that you get a fair and equitable dissolution to the marriage. Save some time and money and have all of your information with you (driver's license numbers, s.s. numbers, credit account #'s and balances, a list of debts and assets that you have, addresses phones numbers, etc.) Your attorney can prepare to defend you against the A should it come up somehow but if the attorney doesn't kow about it and is blindsided during the proceedings it will look bad for you as it may be perceived that you can't be honest with your own attorney so how honest are you being about everything else. It is all about credibility.

Your attorney has to keep all that you say priviledged, so regardless of how humiliating something may seem, you need to disclose it to the attorney.
