I think doccool was a set up

Hi all,

New lurker, here. I found about that other site from this board.  Now the site is using the stuff from the message boards to teach people how to catch cheaters. I just don't appreciate themodacting so righteous when he just wants to make money.

Rant over.

Welcome to MAS..

Used to be a lot more crowded here  but we're surviving a software upgrade calamity.. hence the peace and quiet... for now!

I agree with your frustration.. but anytime you post anything, here too, it's for all the world to see and do whatever they wish to do.. sad, but true..

Doesn't mean he's not a b.tthead though. I read a personal note he wrote to one of the female regular posters there and that showed his TRUE colors allright.  Not as high and mighty as he would like to think himself to be.

You are right.  Just another hypocrat opportunist out to make a quick buck.

I think doccool found another niche to make $$$. Once enough scandalous things wer posted in the community forums, he had enough to flip the script and continue making money. I try not to reveal too much about my A anywhere online.

I don't think it was a set-up. His excuses for shutting down the site don't ring true. He advertised heavily with come-on phrases like "I cheated to get better genes for my children" and other pretty graphic things. Like any forum, there was a spectrum of people there, but I think most were just ordinary folks caught up in something they couldn't avoid, for a number of very good reasons.

To suddenly "get religion" and turn on all those caring, supportive and non-judgemental people, citing a few individuals who were on the fringes as representative of the whole forum, was disingenuous at best.

Personally, I think he simply got caught, and this about-face was his cover-up.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought something was weird about that complete turnaround.

I came across their site while I was googling/researching other options out there, and I thought it was really sad for all of those people who poured their hearts out and shared their (completely valid) feelings and experiences in having an affair, only to have this doccool guy completely change his ethos and make the community members feel like second class citizens.

Even more sad that upon sifting through their old forum posts, it seems like a lot of the people posting on there might not have been completely careful about the public nature of the internet... lots of panicked people now stressing about this guy potentially exploiting their information.

It's not exactly something we can share comfortably in a normal social situation, but still something that needs talking through... not all of us feel like we can seek professional help... the effective anonymity of the internet is a great middle ground to talk out these more sensitive topics... it'd be a real shame if the ex doccool forum members felt like they could no longer do this because been burned by this whole experience..

Currently researching for our project, Affair Understanding.
Keen to connect with others wanting to discuss their experiences in having an affair.
Feel free to PM me any questions :)
