So, I've been checking the site off and on since the big "change", and I see that there has been ZERO improvement. As a matter of fact, it is worse than it has ever been.

I don't understand why they felt the need to fix something that wasn't broken...financial reasons just don't cut it here. It is a HUGE site, and I'm sure the revenues match. It's obvious that the bottom line is the only thing important to the powers that be...so I would be curious to know how they feel about the tremendous drop off that has occured with posters. 

I have known several HIGH SCHOOL students who could have taken this project on, and done a whole lot better job than this. 

My disappointment here is boundless. As I'm sure other MAS'ers feel as well.

We are in pain and we need help...and it's not to be found here anymore. What an awful shame...when I think of the years of support I've received here, and now there is this? I am almost in tears.

It took me three times to log in to reply to you.  Every other time it would refresh to me not logged in.  I'm utterly amazed that it's a month after the switch and there are even more issues than when they started.  If someone were to start a new board elsewhere, I would love an invite.  My e-mail is my username & gmail.com on the end.

Couldn't agree more Benska. It's so sad that we've lost such a great support that we all need. There seems to be only a handful of people around. While I still read, there are many posts I'd like to respond to and share stories or offer support...but to be quite honest it's such a hassle to log on and navigate around that I don't bother. So very sorry to lose what we had with MAS it has been a rock to me for the past two years.

You are so spot-on, Benska!  Frown  I also had to try 3 times to log on, and it finally worked with my screen name rather than my email.  WHY they had to change the boards, I can't imagine.  I've been reading this board since my A began over 4 years ago and it has helped me through many a rough day, and now my dear friend (we met thru this board and began emailing each other) is going through a very tough time and doesn't have the support we've become accustomed to.

I hope iVillage gets in gear and either returns to the previous format or actually FIXES this disaster!!!  We miss our MAS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Financial reasons just don't cut it, huh?  iVillage.com is a business.  They have employees (not volunteers) who are very attached to the paychecks they get every other week.  Likewise, those who sell them network servers and such are equally fond of getting paid. 

Being a business with fiduciary responsibilities requires one to be financially focused.  So, you can be darn sure that the decision to bring the message board capability in-house was a financial one, and not at all a 'how will impact Benska?' one.

Tremendous?  Hmmmmm...so, what, 100 people are posting now instead of what, 400?  Yikes, the loss of those 300 people certainly shivered their timbers.  Once the priority of fixing the board is at the top of the Web Design Department's list and it gets done, a brand new 300 people will jump on to replace those 'lost.'

You see...posters here are not the important ones.  We are here simply to provide content for who REALLY matter (the tens of thousands of daily board visitors/lurkers).  Posters here are simply entertainment for the masses.  The loss of support for you never, ever crossed the minds of anyone in the boardroom at iVillage.com.

So instead of whining about IV's lack of placing your needs at the top of their list, why don't you be grateful that they were insightful enough to begin with to support this board as long as they did.

wow...flying...that was hurtful to read.  No entertainment for this 130 lb. mass....okay...okay, 140 lb.

Frankly, I feel everyone's pain...regardless of all the inner fiancial workings about which I am totally in the dark, it still pains me to see a Site that has been, for some, their only source of support, experience such a disruption...especially with the approaching Holidays when support is needed the most.  

At least the CMs understand our disappointment and loss...well, I figure that because none have responded in a similar manner to our concerns, complaints and upset.

Oh, I AM grateful. Very grateful that it only took three times this time to log in. And I will be even MORE grateful when/if they get some good buttons back here...like ignore poster ;-) Maybe you can get a job here, seeing as you're such a proponent of the place? Good luck with that!
