Let me chime in on the hotel discussion

In the other threads of hotel rooms, someone mentioned finding a hotel with day rates. I called around to a lot of the hotels near me and only found one that has a day rate. Am I calling it the right thing or is this something that isn't very common? How did you find the one you use??

I *had* a room at one of those weekly suite type places. I received a bunch of money for my birthday and this is what I was going to do with it, lol! (With some help from OM, of course.) OM and I have never really had IC, since we don't have anywhere to go, so this was going to be IT -- we were finally gonna do it and do it right....no more skirting the edges of actually doing it!! Well, thanks to H being a jerk about the whole job situation, we hit serious financial hardships and I had to use my birthday money for part of my house payment and had to cancel the room. AAARGH!!!! Plus, I have all sorts of bladder and female problems going on, so we would have had to postpone, anyway, but now I don't know when we'll get that kind of money again. I do have about $40 left over, though.

So, I thought that getting a hotel room - once I'm healthy again - just for a day would have to do, but I'm having a hard time finding one I can do that with. We won't be able to spend the night, or even use it into the evening, I don't think. Because of our job, H's job, his g/f schedule, all that, we would be better off using it during the day after we get off work at 9a. Using a standard reservation would mean leaving at 12n. I don't have to leave for my second job until 3pm. I'd really like to have 3 more hours with him!!!

Help?? I'm getting desperate for this kind of 'quality' time, lol, with this man!!!!

Lucky,

whats the problem? THe money? Call around there are hotels that are 40.00 or so during the week, and it doesn't have to be a crappy hotel either. I feel for you... I'm glad MM has always paid for our hotel rooms, Just the other day he told me, one month he spent 800.00 on us. I couldn't believe that! You check in... and pay with cash, you don't have to check out at the desk, just leave.. I live in Ca. so maybe it's harder for you cuz of where your from.

I'm crossing my fingers for you! I hope it all works out, maybe you need to take a little more risks???

Yes, the money is the issue. OM is living through a bankruptcy he filed a few years ago when his wife died and the medical bills got the better of him, so he receives very little after they take that out of his check...pretty much just enough to live on. My H has been out of work for 2 years and so I don't have a lot of discretionary income, because my two jobs still don't make ends completely meet. H has a couple of crappy little parttime jobs, but that money is sporadic and not much, anyway.

The hotel rooms around us are $70-100 per night. I live in a major suburban/corporate area of a major city. Every once in a while, we might be able to luck into an internet special, or something, but every time we've set one of those up, our schedules have wreaked havoc and we've had to cancel. :-(

But, OM knows how thoroughly disappointed I am, so I think he's trying to arrange something for later this month once I get all my health problems taken care of.

Lucky.

I hope it all works out, and its better then you ever dreamed.!

No wonder why you're having an EMA, you have 2 jobs and your H doesn't work? What the heck is going on there? Why do you need your H if he isn't picking up the slack?

Keep looking, you'll find a hotel that fits your budget, sometimes you have to schedule it, and cancel everything else, except family stuff, cuz family needs to come first.

But remember, once you get your hands on him, you'll probably desire him more!
