A Little Help, Please!!

Ok, girls, I am flying out next Thurs to meet up with AP, just one night, he's picking me up at the airport, dinner, hotel, fly back home Fri morn. So, I need help! I recently discovered that when XH left, he took all (and i mean ALL) of the luggage with him, so I am wondering if I need to go spring for new luggage, or since it is only one night, can I get away with using my oversized adidas gym bag? Too tacky?
Also, it's been about ten years since I have flown (due to a bad experience) and I am trying to decide what to wear. I want to be comfy, but not frumpy, and I definitely don't want to look like I'm trying too hard. I was thinking skinny jeans tucked into knee high boots, with a long sweater. Yes, no, maybe? Any advice or suggestions? Thanks!

Well I'm a TOTAL girlie-girl - so keep that in mind with my post.

I would NOT take the adidas gym bag - oh my goodness no!

Just one comment on the boots...you haven't flown in awhile. :) LOL You'll have to take those off at security and send them through the scanner. It's kind of a hassle to take them off and then TRY to find a place to sit down and put them back on while handling luggage and a purse. I always wear shoes that you can slip on and off easily which is also a benefit inside the plane as sitting seems to make ones feet swell. Just me, but I can be a bit figety. If you don't think your luggage is appropriate perhaps you can borrow someone's? I doubt he'll be looking at your luggage though.

Could you get away with the gym bag... sure.

Ok, so now I'm thinking black pants (stretcy, kind of clingy, but pretty comfortable) layer a couple of sheer solid tee's, a cardigan (maybe over the shoulders?) and ballet flats....will take the boots, jeans, sweater for going out, cosmetics, etc. I don't think I will be needing pajamas! Then same black pants with a different top for flying back. And yes, I am going to find an overnight bag this weekend. It's just so hard to find the time for everything! ARRGGHH!
Any other pointers I should be aware of? Is my hair going to get super frizzy on the flight? Is my face going to dry out? It's a short flight (less than 2hrs), but I was thinking of popping a valium before I board-bad idea? I just don't want to be super nervous and flipped out the entire time! Sorry if I seem to be freaking out a little here, I just want everything to go perfectly!
