My AP and I work for a company and only see each other at events approximately 8 times a year.

It sounds to me as if you have fallen in love with your AP, and its of my opinion that when you and your AP work together that it makes for an even more difficult situation.
I know what you're going through. I'm new at this and don't have any great words of advice, but I share your pain.
I don't work with my AP but during the work week and work hours, he and I are very connected. Sometimes it feels like he is mine during the week and she (the W) has him on weekends. We do text on weekends and sometimes call, but not as much as during the week. I can understand your ups and downs, the way in which you feel excited when you hear from him and sad and down when you don't. I do totally understand. I have that nearly every day. And no, I can't believe I am having an affair either. Today was a very emotional up and down roller coaster again. Just know that others feel the same way you do and you're not alone.
I so know exactly what you mean. I get to spend an inordinate amount of time with my AP/BF, but I still feel absolutely down and depressed when he leaves.
We just spent five days together on a trip...I was even introduced to a couple of his brothers, yet here I am...sad as can be because he's gone away to work again.
Not even the unsolicited text I got from him before he left, telling me that he loves me and misses me already, is enough to perk me up...that will happen when we're together again! Actually, when I'm feeling really down, I do look at that text (and others that I've saved) and it helps a little bit...thank goodness
Rollercoaster, yep :0(
