A Lover’s Sorrow
A Valentine’s Day spent alone
I ponder in silence my misery
A boyfriend that isn’t really mine
For his first priority are his wife and kid
I am by myself, better off single
No stress, no drama, no depression, and no tears
I am through waiting at home
Wondering where he is and what he’s doing
If only I have the courage to leave
And if only he will leave me alone, for good
Maybe next Valentine’s Day I will be happier
And have found someone to love me
And to cherish me on this day of a lover’s gathering
I miss warm embraces and kisses
And chocolates and flowers that never came
Wallowing…and waiting…and waiting…
Always waiting…
