More hotel/motel questions

We've never had to do this before, and I have a question or two. Do you have to use your real name when you check in? Do they ask for a home address, ID? Do you have to tell them someone else is joining you? I'm feeling a little nervous, never having checked into a motel before. Any suggestions or advice would really be appreciated.

Hello, This is what we do when we go to our hotel. One of us makes a reservation for a day rate. It's cheaper! For instance, if I get there first they make a copy of my license and I pay in cash. We go to a major change so they're pretty cool about it. The first time I did it I just told them that I was preforming employee interviews. They didn't seem to think anything of it. After I get the room number I call my MM on his cell and tell him which room I"m in. He just walks through the lobby and comes up. I've never been asked my plate number on my car. Make sure to ask for a day rate! Hope this helps. NMR

Hi, thanks for the suggestion, but we're going to be spending the night (yea!). Don't you worry about them contacting you at home since they have your name and address? I know this is a reach, but what if they decided there was something wrong with the room after you left and they called or sent a letter? I realize that's probably pretty farfetched, but if it did happen I'd be in ____ up to my eyeballs. My marriage isn't a happy one, but I have a roof over my head. If I ever decide to ask for a D, I don't want my OM involved at all. I'm going to ask him if he'll do the checking in. And then I'll have to wait for an email answer. I don't think he'll object, but life is full of surprises.
