I know that this is a support board for those of us in A, or w/ MM, or whatever situation that you have found yourself in that has lead you here to post, but as the resident law enforcement officer I feel that I should be the one to dole out a little advice.

People please DO NOT DRINK and DRIVE!!!! Let me say it again. DO NOT DRINK and DRIVE. Place your call for a cab early in the night. If you plan on leaving the party at 0300 hrs, then place that call at 2300hrs or 11:00pm or earlier. Choose a designated driver, if they cave and drink, and you can crash where you are DO IT!

Every 32 minutes someone in the US is killed by a drunk driver. Every 2 minutes someone is hurt in an alcohol related crash.

The sad part is that when someone drinks and drives and they crash it's usually the drunk drive that lives, and often times is relatively unharmed. When they wake up the next morning their enter life has been changed as well as the lives of other countless people. It's literally waking up to a nightmare.

My guys will be out tonight in drones. Sobriety check points all over. They will be in parking lots across the streets from clubs waiting until the club lets out, and then they are on the move. This is the time that the police use officers still in the academy to both train the new guy, but to also beef up police presence. In my state 2/3 of all officer will be on duty/on call tonight.

If you are driving and you suspect that the person next to you or behind you may be drunk, let them pass you and ALWAYS keep their car in front of yours while you call 911. If you allow him to be behind you, you can not effectively watch what he is doing. He may speed up, and ram you from behind, or push another car into you. If he is in front of you you can see what he is doing and you will have time to react appropriately.

I know that you all know how devastating drinking and driving can be, but because I care about you guys I felt the need to touch on it even though this is a support board for A's. It another level of support from me.

Have a wonderful evening, eat, drink, and be merry. Let the festivities begin!
