for those who are curious, everything with the lump is ok. to let you guys know, to check for genital warts, use white vinegar, if it turns pale or white, it's warts, if it don't change color, it's ok. just like you guys said, from shaving there, i most likely knicked myself, and i healed with a lump.

now with my other issue, she's very concerned. i told her it's my left pelvic side where the pain is. she feels it could be something with my fallopian tubes or ovaries. i'm going in for a sonagram on monday before my pap in dec. not to get graphic, but when she put her fingers in me, afterwards i thought i would hit the roof with shooting pain. she thinks it could a partial tubal pregnancy, i told her it's been going on for a while, that now has gotten worse. one day at a time. maybe getting laid off was a blessing in a way, it's forcing me to take care of my health, which i'll ignore. thanks for the support.

I go the doc's regularly and keep up with all the necessary annual tests and luckily have never had an abnormal pap or any other issues in the gyno department (thank goodness), and reading this thread scares the hell out of me!

So, in this day and age, with all the medical advances and drugs available, all they can do is wait to see if this cyst dissolves?

with ultrasound it didn't hurt, when the nurse put her fingers in me, yes it did. i never told her it hurt during ic, we didn't discuss that. i have to wait to talk to my regular dr in dec when i get my pap done. i've ignored this and other things for years and years until now my body is saying hey do something. i don't know what's the right way of doing things in this situation. maybe it's a wait and see.

I've had them too. I know they hurt. But, as the last poster said, they really aren't a big deal. I've had burst ones, too. It seems like once you have one, you are prone to having them again. Not sure why a previous poster said a burst cyst is life-threatening, because, again, I've had them and not once has a doctor said that they were in any way life threatening. Maybe she's confusing a burst cyst with something like a burst appendix. Just not sure.

I am not confusing a burst cyst with a burst appendix. It depends how big they are when they burst. They can be life threatening because they cause fluid to go pouring out into the body cavity they can cause peretonitis (sp) (blood poisoning). And that can be fatal if not treated promptly. That is what I was told when being treated, twice. It is not 'no big deal'. And if they do burst into the body cavities, the pain is almost beyond belief. The inhaled anaesthetic that the paramedics gave me took the edge off only and the pethadine (sp) only took away the edge. Neither were enough to stop the pain.

What you described is rare. Most of the time Ovarian cysts go away on their own. I know ... I have had them..several through the years..most of the time I didnt even know I had it. It is usally nothing to worry about. Every women gets them. Women with PCOS have what is described as "A string of pearls" around their ovaries. Those are little cysts. Cyst are very common right after ovulation.

Thank you for the post. I'm kind of scared to go back to the dr, not sure what he will say. The tech said the cyst looks a bit larger in size. I think I may have had it for about 3 months.
