OMG, gotta love the botox:):) No fronwn lines here:):) I actually had my Doc friend do my lips too:) He's very conservative so it's not a big difference. But I can tell and so can MM especially when I'm doing the lollipop thing! *Blushing* NMR
You’ve made some very valid points (all of which for the most part I tend to agree). However, next time please don’t jump to conclusions in assuming that someone who likes to spend their disposable income on chemical peels, Botox, expensive shoes, etc. is necessarily lacking “on the inside”; I think you’re assuming too much. We’re all far more complex than a post on a support board can reveal!!!
You might not have been implying that the two were “mutually exclusive”, but you did seem to imply that an interest in one meant a presumable lack of interest in the other:
“I was merely pointing out that we should also invest as much energy into developing something that will stand us in good stead when we're beyond the help of fashionable clothing and botox.”
If you understand that we are all complex, why would someone who is interested in maintaining their looks (or vanity vices?) automatically need a pep talk on investing “as much energy” in the other areas of their life?...It seems you were implying more than you are willing to admit….
As far as media messages…the media may endorse youth as the quintessence of physical beauty, however, the link of youth to beauty is certainly NOT a FABRICATION of the media used to sell make-up, hair dye, or…Botox. We all know that to look youthful and healthy IS the quintessence of physical beauty -- like it or not…”Youth is king”; it just IS.
And yes (before someone flames me), there are other forms of beauty much more precious!:)
gc, if there's one thing i've learned in all my years, NEVER take yourself seriously because life has a way of knocked the wind right outta those sails!!
i enjoy EVERY aspect of life - great, good, stupid and bad!! i want it all!!
