BTW happy Mom's day to everybody...will be out of town so wishing it today.

Is anybody of you getting diamonds from the first guy, the second guy, the third guy...whoever? I never dealt with a MM but do these men ever give you jewelry as a gift? Do you ever expect an expensive gift like that if they have ever expressed their love to you? How about the H?

I was watching one of those ads...there is this one where there is a couple standing in Venice with the birds flying around and the guy gives the woman a diamond necklace (I think) and she proclaims loudly in front of all people "I love this man, I love this man…." ...I love that ad...I never thought about this when I was younger but now I think that women need to get some nice diamond jewelry once in a while...what’s' up with these men...getting thriftier by the moment…..you see woman mowing lawns and fixing houses and cars…and these guys getting un-chivalrous by the moment…

Have a nice day everybody :-)

Well my answer might not be exactly what you are looking for but my single OM presented me with a gorgeous opal bracelet that has seven large opals with a gold X in between each. On each side of the X are a pair of diamonds. This was a few weeks before Christmas. I obviously hid it from my H. A few days before Christmas he presented me with a box that included the matching opal earrings and pendant necklace. YIKES!!! I am an ebay addict so with this great combination I kind of showed up at home sporting all the new jewels and said "look what great deal I got." For Valentines Day OM handed me a box with the most beautiful black hills gold ring I've ever seen. The ring is black enamel and surrounds a large oval shaped opal. I still haven't taken that one home yet.

My OM is a bargain shopper kinda guy and goes to second hand places in search of treasures. He bought me an incredible turqoise and sterling bracelet that I just love for ninety nine cents. There are nine silver pieces and each holds a pale heart shaped turqoise stone - they kind of look like conchos. His taste in jewelry is very much ME!! Everybody here at work says that about the opals. "Oh girl that is so YOU!!"

Jewelry is all he buys me just about! He's very predictable. For Christmas, I got an onyx (sp?) ring with two VERY small diamonds on the side and for my birthday, I got a sterling silver & marcasite bracelet. The only other thing he's ever bought me was a bottle of scented bubble bath and some candles after a particularly stressful week at work. I don't want him to spend money on me because I don't want W getting suspicious, but I do like the occasional little gifts. I don't hardly get him anything because he'll have to explain to her where he got it. So I try to get him things that he would buy for himself or something for his office. What about y'all? Do y'all buy things for your OM's?

You know what Philly, I got a beautiful poem and a nice bouquet from my daughters. It said, "mom you are the best. We love the way to take care of us. We will always love you" you best friend signed with each otheir names. No diamond bracelet/jewllery could beat that! But that's just me. :)

hi pg and right back at you -- happy mother's day too!!

H buys great stuff for me every occasion and some non-occasions too. wonderful taste in jewerly and with a bit of fine tuning from me, hasn't given me a piece i don't just love! and i'm a girly-girl. i don't cut grass, or do windows, or change tires. that's why there are landscapers, cleaning people and mechanics, right?!

OM has given me small tokens of his affection including one small piece of jewelry and lots of flowers and several bad poems trying to express what he feels for me, but i appreciate them all the more because he tries sooo hard!

i am blessed with two wonderful men in my life. and wonderful, beautiful, smart, grown children who enrich my life immeasurably!!

life is good! ha, play on my name, but soooo true!!

Yup, my daughters gave them to me too. I agree anything from any man could not beat that. But I did wonder today that a man if truly loves a woman would give her at least one special gift expensive jewelry piece to keep. Some women just cut themselves short by not expecting anything…that’s ok I guess to not expect a gift...but some women don’t expect any “I love you”s, remain at the guy’s beck and call, tolerate any type of crappy attitude and still call them their soul mate. Some people will say its 2004, women don't need a jewelry item to know that they are loved but I think thats just an excuse to not buy anything. If your guy loves you, at least he would give you a nice token of love for keeps.

I am not sure my mm is the type to buy jewelry for me... he ALMOST bought me lingerier in England but was afraid his W would find them when he got home. Oh this week when we were together I went into the bedroom and there was a new vibrator on the bed....does that count??? LOL
