So sorry, Sometimes doing the right thing at the right time still hurts like hell. Been there done that 25 years ago......don't lapse back....from painful experience...it only makes the pain outrageously worse. Deal with your grief upfront...it will fade to simple melancholy in a decade or so

I think you handled it well. The pain is part of the experience. You knew it was going to end in a few months. Cherish the memories. Do not mourn what you lost. It is as nothing compared to what you shared.

Some of us have never been blessed to experience what you experienced. You earned it. Relish it for what is was. And what is says about both of you.

When you see it coming, duck!

Since the break up was planned, did you expect to feel so bad about it?

A decade or so? I like Miranda's idea better LOL

Actually, I'm still hoping that I end up with her but I need her to be 110% sure that I am enough for her and she needs to be 120% sure. I know the journey she needs to take will last more than a year so

Thanks hold, those are very kind words but how else do you measure what was lost if not by what was shared?

I didn't know what to expect other than a big adjustment after spending two and a half years integrating our lives together.

Also, neither of us is feeling it yet to the extent that we will. Today she mentioned seeing a movie being released this Friday and although I have yet to tell her that it will be at least a year before I plan on seeing her, if ever,
