Next day she throws the book away.

Did you ask her why she did that?

She said she didn't want the kids to find it.

says that the reason they are fantasies are that they're private.

To me this sounds like the conservative televangelists who are constantly yammering about resisting temptation and the dangers of givng in to lustful thoughts. Seems the louder these guys shout about the evils of carnal thoughts, the more likely they are to be caught with a prostitute or a gay lover. The only way I have been able to make sense of this correlation is that for these guys, lustful thoughts must be particularly difficult to resist.

THEY find them impossible to suppress once triggered. So they scream and shout and make a big deal about getting rid of anything triggering TO THEM. Suggestive movies or tv shows. Suggestive clothing. Suggestive icons of popular culture. They want the entire society to get rid of this content because it is so triggering FOR THEM.

Perhaps your wife is so careful to avoid any sexually explicit material because she finds it impossible to control her physical reaction once she gets mentally aroused?

When you see it coming, duck!

It seems that many women reject their sexuality after they have children because their self-identity shifts and they begin to model their own mothers who they see as being asexual beings.
