My wife and I have been together for 10 years now in July. We have 2 wonderful children 9 in September and 4 in July. Really since birth of second child dw's libido has gone done hill. Not long after second child was born they figured her hormones were thrown out of whack and had her go on low dose of antidepressant effexor. In November of last year she had hysterectomy due to female issues. Now she takes estrogen to go with effexor as well as other vitamin supplements to help with everything she is going through. Me I am 30 and very HL she is 26. She is also a stay at home mother and runs a daycare center from our home. And yes before you ask I do more than my fair share to attempt to ease the burden for her in terms of housework, laundy, dishes, sweep, vacuum, put away clothes, and that's on top of working an average 50 hr week in sales. So I guess my big question here is...has anyone else gone through something similar if so how did things turn out in the long run?? any suggestions??

Sounds like you guys are doing all you can...problem is the anti-depressants may be contributing to the LL. See if her doc is willing to try wellbutrin...it has fewer sexual side effects from what I understand.

Not real sure why they would treat a hormone imbalance with anti-depressants though. That seems odd. Perhaps it was more of a post-partum depression situation:?

The estrogen may be contributing as well. However, the alternative is likely worse (if they took her ovaries).

And wow. I think I would be totally "touched out" if I had to spend all day with little kids. That is just me but could be a contributing factor. Helping around the house won't alleviate this either...it's just the way little kids are. Clingy and demanding, lol.

Unfortunately, sometimes fixing one problem creates another.
