i was wondering if anyone here used to be hl. i used to be very hl and about 12 years ago it disappeared. i don't know why or how to get it back, but i have hope since it used to be there. is it silly to have that hope?

Never silly to hope but generally just having hope is not enough.

Welcome to the board.

As tryinghard said, its not silly to have that hope at all.

You didn't mention if you were married, but irrespective of whether you are or not, you may find some helpful information about stimulating your libido in the following resource:

thanks for the replies. i am married. for 8yrs. i am only 28 though. my loss happened when i was a teenager. i was your typical teen, and then it suddenly stopped. i used to be able to get turned on by seeing a steamy scene in a movie or reading a sensual scene in a book. then all of a sudden, it just stopped. my husband is hl and is very patient with me. we generally have sex twice a week on average, but of course he's the type that could have it every day. when my desire disappeared i also started having fatigue issues, so it is something my doctor and i are working on. i just feel like it has to be in there somewhere.

Are you on Birth Control? This could be the reason why your libido changed. And yes keep hoping and keep trying things that you think could help your libido. 3 mos ago I could have cared less if I ever had sex again. Now I wonder from day to day if I am going to be lucky enough to get it that night because I yearn for it almost daily. Birth Control really caused me some big problems or at least the particular one I was put on.

May I be so bold as to ask which one?

I was put on Depo in Jan of 06. My husband had just finally tested and been given the go after his vasectomy and I was on it for period issues. Stupidly I stayed on it for almost 2 years. I was so looking forward to sex without the fear of getting pregnant only to have my sex drive completely disappear.

" when my desire disappeared i also started having fatigue issues, so it is something my doctor and i are working on. i just feel like it has to be in there somewhere. "

You might try looking at some books like The Sex Starve Marriage book and Perfectly Normal.
