You're a fast reader but perhaps a bit too fast? I would read it again and I think you'll see the man was very much different before the wedding. In fact, in almost all of her articles you see the initial infatuation masking the people each of them would eventually settle down to become - a conflict as a result of that change - a stalemate that becomes resentful - then an eventual solution somewhere in the middle.
