Sorry to hear about the stress in your life. Remember while you are mourning to celebrate the man your GF was. And I am glad to hear that when appropriately pummeled with the clue-bat, your H stepped up to the plate. See, we HLs are not ALWAYS such ogres.

When you see it coming, duck!

>>Mom brought me a box of letters that Grandma and Grandpa wrote eachother when they were courting during the war. He really was a good man, and I'm going to miss him so very much.<<

What an amazing thing to have access to! I always try to remember that even though the time always seems too short after someone is gone, it only seems that way because we were so terribly lucky to have them in our lives at all.

My condolences to your family. On Monday, D13 and I went sledding. The best sled by far was the one my grandfather bought me 40 years ago. He passed 25+ years ago, and I still miss him.

Humorous aside: D13 could not believe that the 40 year old sled beat everything else down the hill. I told her whatever it is made out of must be either so poisonous or so carcinogenic that they had to take it off the market. She felt that made the sledding even more exciting!

When you see it coming, duck!

...there are a few myths that my children have single handedly sorted out...they catch fish like a sonofagun year round in the lake (currently they go for trout...yesterday, in a half hour my middle son caught 3)...they yell, scream, holler, jump up and down on the dock...

(they throw their fish back always...never keep them...so, they are catching the same ones over and over and over...)
