My niece is 14 and has Asperger's, she is having severe phsychological distress, and my sister and I are having a hard time finding support resources for her. Please, keep her in your thoughts and if you're religious your prayers. I'm very concerned about her.

I was thinking about how difficult it must be for your niece, being a teen, with Aspergers. As an adult I have taken several quizzes which put me right on the border of Aspergers. I have touch issues (always have) and noise and crowd issues, I've been treated for an anxiety disorder, and as a teen a psychologist gave an assessment that I was "emotionally sterile." I'm not exactly sure what THAT's supposed to mean, but there you have it.

Until I discovered drugs, my teen years were really really rough. Once I got into drugs I think I sort of "self-medicated" my way through it. I'm very fortunate I never wound up in serious trouble.

I hope the facility where she is will help her find some peace, and help her discover a path through this difficult time. I bet she's a wonderful girl, underneath the confines of her troubles.

"I bet she's a wonderful girl, underneath the confines of her troubles."

She is, and she has a completely unique view of the world.

Well, I'll be thinking of her and wishing her the absolute best path for finding her way towards her own personal greatness (whatever that turns out to be.)

Tiptoeing, just a thought fwiw. Are her troubles at school? Kids can be meaner than hell to anyone who doesn't fit in just right as I'm sure we all know. It is quite
