I gave my LL wife a *large dollar value* spa gift certificate for Mother's Day last year and she loved it! She used it for things other than massages. They had all kinds of stuff: manicures, pedicures, laser hair removal, waxing, all kinds of hair treatments, etc. They even had couples massages that I hinted around about, but she didn't choose that. ;-)

I'm interested to hear other responses, though because I'm at a similar loss for ideas this year.

FYI, my DH and I don't celebrate V-day as we both feel it's too contrived. I have absolutely no expectations (and thus no disappointment) on that day. I'd much rather have a romantic day on the anniversary of our meeting or some other day with personal significance.

Personally, I love a nice dinner at home, candle light and a nice Jacuzzi bath with a glass of wine with my spouse.

I feel the same way that V-Day is to contrived but, DW doesn't.

>>>>> We need a board for these relationships! I'm the Low-Valentine-Support and she's the HVS. She'd complain that I just "go through the motions" on Valentine's day, that I just don't show the "passion" for it. I'd complain that she just puts too much weight on a silly thing like a stationers' and chocolatiers' holiday! <<<<<
