Well, with general anesthesia they were able to dilate me and get it right out. I was home by noon, have vicodan for the cramping and am eating and drinking and feeling generally tired but okay.

DH was driving me nuts, so I am glad that even though I am supposed to be supervised for 24 hours, he finally went to the bike shop. He insists that he's going to make me chicken piccatta for dinner. I don't want the "where's this, where's that, why isn't this cleaned up, how long has this been like this, why can't you keep all the spices alphabetized" stress, and I told him so, but he's not listening.

I'll have to enjoy my peace while I have it! Thanks for all the well wishes, seems like they worked! I am still on schedule for my actual surgery (with overnight hospital stay and 1 week sick leave, ugh) next Thursday!

Great it's over, and hope you get a well-earned semi-rest.

At least it wasn't

>>At least it wasn't the Case of the Missing IUD. I understand they can migrate all over the place.<<

Yes, we'd seen it on the ultrasound and the MRI. It was right where it should be, but the distortion the fibroid caused with my uterus caused the strings to pull up, she just couldn't reach the lil bugger.

>>OMG will you have TV? The college football season starts soon and that may give you more snooze time!<<

LOL Neither DH or I has any interest in much televised sports, so no hope on the horizon there. However, I have found that the drugs they give you for surgery make sleeping soundly sooooo much easier! The vicodin helped too, I think. I slept well for a lot of the weekend. I am looking forward to more of that after my procedure on Thursday (we'll see, hopefully the pain won't be too bad!) Thanks for your well wishes!
