DH just made $700 selling old jewelery to a local jeweler! Yay, another bill paid off. Also I am getting $800 back in income taxes, so there goes another one. We might be able to get enough of these bad babies paid off to be able to go on a vacation come next winter!! In other news, I guess we are going to get married next winter, since this year it turned out that financially we'd have been ahead if we had been (first time for that, which is why we haven't done it up till now.) My dad was so happy to get the news he started to cry. Jeez.

Need to delurk for a post here.

Glad to hear you are doing financially better. Financial worries can be a nightmare on relationships.

Ok now reaches into pocket pulls out and throws yellow flag and blows loud whistle.

Your thinking about getting married?!?!?!!?!??!!!

Is there a post I missed where things got a lot better? Did you solve the ML problem? Please share!!!

One of the things that came out in our meeting with the counselor was how DW was concerned from the beginning about our sexual disparity. "From the beginning

Congratulations M, I sensed that this is what you''ve wanted for some time.

I do understand where Dmam's coming from, I suppose the Big Deal is mainly around having more kids though.

DMAM,

we've been completely 100% committed to this relationship for over 16 years. Neither of us is leaving no matter what, as we've proved through the worst of times. Things are better than they were, and since neither of us is leaving anyway, it will make it a lot less complicated legally if we get married. The only reason we waited this long was because he is disabled and my insurance wasn't good enough to replace what he's lose in medicaid coverage to make it worth it. Now it is.

On the other hand, maybe the assumption that DMAM's sexual ardour would wane over time seemed normal and natural to her -- just as many HLs assume their LL partner will relax and grow into sex over time.

Yes, perhaps there needs to be an obligatory pre-nup that spells out expectations for what our partner's responsiveness will turn out like over time.... would save a load of grief.

Sorry about the (g)nashing by the way, what was I thinking!
