These girls are just below Charlie Sheen., both on my "amusing" scale and on my "annoying" scale. What was I saying? Oh, yes...hard to take the "issue" seriously with these two as spokespersons. But, interesting to discuss anyway. Your opinion?

"I received the message since childhood: porn was was sexist. It was bad. As an adult, it was hard to shake this long enough to actually find porn that was not sexist or bad."

Great comment....

"There seems to be some silent girl-culture rule which says: “No!” And “…seriously? Ew.” Porn is taboo amongst women for the same reason masturbation is. In junior high, boys started talking about jerking off. It was something to roll your eyes at but it was okay–we knew all boys did it. When us girls talked about masturbation amongst each other it was with the idea that it was just weird and gross. I remember in highschool, waiting for my first orgasm, expecting it to come from my boyfriend."

Sad really that some women still get programed this way, What a waste...

I didn't talk much about it. But out of maybe 2 conversations in HS ....

One was a girl saying she didn't know what to do. "How" are girls supposed to masturbate. For guys, everyone knows you pull on it. For girls, it seems we didn't know what the clitoris was for.

To me, this is still about selling the industry of porn, this time to women instead of men, then promoting true sexual openness, individualism and health. The porn industry is never going to be able to take the role of promoting "sexual health" because the porn industry is about money, shock value, extreme titilation and reaction first.

Peaches "A business that does it's best to make the most money by being the most shocking and attention getting it can be while playing on human emotion and exploiting the worst and most shallow parts both genders can fall pray into using the other gender for. "

Not the porn I watch....Nor is that what the majority watches. Strawman argument......same as saying slasher flix are horrible therefore Hollywood must be closed.

The majority has spoken on porn...It's not going away.....MST's post was about how it is growing as an art form it suit the needs/wants of a larger audience..A good thing to many of those that feel ill served by current fare. The manufactured Victorian morals are fading away as to sexuality....A very good thing as they were not a realistic or accurate description of human sexuality...Full of hate, self-loathing, emotional isolation and a straight jacket of narrow-minded accepted sexual practice. Unfulfilling

MST, I don' think the answer is "porn" at all. Stereotypical or non-stereotypical. "Lady Porn Day" is just another scam to target an audience that they haven't targeted much yet, women.

I just don't think the answer is "more porn".

In my opinion...there isn't a porn that doesn't exploit the people in it and narrowly define, stereotype and objectfy the women and men in it..women are stereotyped and pegged into little boxes based on their worth in their body and looks.
