In a "it's always the guy's fault" kind of way.....Funny that all of these "problems" could and should have been foreseen.....We've seen these complaints regularly around here...At least this article points out that there mainly in reaction to a fundamentally changed dating market....A Be careful

It's still interesting that the general drift of the article is that men shouldn't take advantage of this situation....But why not....when the standards were reversed women surely enjoyed it.....There are still echoes of that in women complaining that they have to pay once in a while on a date. Why? Is he supposed to buy access to you with fancy food and entertainment? Isn't enjoying each other's company a reciprocal arrangement? I'm sure porn has lowered some women's value on the dating market either directly or indirectly....why is that such a bad thing? Lowering artificially inflated "prices" is one of the

"If less men are getting married & women can't seem to trick them into it anymore, then OH NOES, the fate of the world!"

For guys the risk / benefit ratio of marriage kids etc...is more risk then benefit these days...I can totally understand why more guys are opting out.... Adjust the presumptions of "family" court with something more inline with equity instead of the

I had my all kids before 40...but I know a bunch of guys that waited for the right circumstances, that ended up 1st time dads at 45 or so....Wives were all in their 30's....Many guys have come to feel they have time to be picky.....it seems that waiting works better for guys then women. I personally bucked that trend.....I got married in my early 20's...kids in my 30's

The trend isn't just for men, I know many women who are delaying kids as long as biologically possible. I had all my kids in my mid twenties, and look forward to having them all in college before my retirement age.

Most women I know at school are not looking for legal marriage and are happy with cohabitative situations.

Yes..but it seems that is all they can hope for with today's field playing eligible college guys.....early marriage is off the table.....it does however mean they are giving up their prime reproductive years <20-30> Guys can quite safely wait till their mid 30's/early 40's with only slightly diminished reproductive success. Even if medical intervention is required it tends to be much cheaper < Spinning semen it separate out the good from the bad and simple pipette introduction to the egg is way cheaper then IVF> Even if total failure ...sperm banks etc are way cheaper then surrogates or egg buying.

This article is sad. A little for women but mostly really for men. Young men are totally failing.

Older father’s have just as much ability to contribute to disorders and birth defects in their children as older mother’s do. If a man wants to have kids, a doctor will always advocate he do it sooner rather then later. No doctor will ever advocate that a man wait until he is 40 to have kids. I also don’t know any man that wants to even wait that long to have kids.
