Adding maiden name to Facebook

I recently added my maiden name to my Facebook page - it now reads my first name-Maiden name-married name.

My husband is getting all bent out of shape and said our "relationship has changed"  WHAT?  I pointed out that his cousin and both sisters have THEIR maiden name on THEIR profile.

Ideas?  Thoughts?

He is a bit old fashioned but really - what does he think is going to happen?

I see both sides of the issue. One thing I've liked about Facebook is my ability to get in touch with people I haven't had contact with in 30-40 years, but I'm curious about. (I'm a 49 year old man BTW.) Using your maiden name makes it possible for that girl you regularly played hopscotch with when you were both 7 years old to locate you. People from your past may not know your married name---and otherwise they can't find you. So, incorporating your maiden name is perfectly legitimate IMO--and is what most married women, including my wife, do.

On the negative side, Facebook has been implicated in a lot of divorces. People locate exes and then jump into bed with them. To minimize legitimate concerns, I would make sure your husband is your Facebook friend with maximum access to your page. I would also consult with him when friending any other men. Explain clearly how you know the guy and why/how he's not a threat.
