My husband and I had a talk about me going to school. This subject for me becomes frustrating and overwhelming. He is in a position where he can take care of everything but it calls for him to be away a lot and he is growin tired of it, its been 8 years with this job. I have been a stay at home mom for 5 years and I have been out of school 14 years. I told him once I got my thought together we could talk more on the subject.

I always struggled in school I felt school was not for me so once I was out I was done, cause I had such a hard time.

Hi Mommie24,

If I can summarize, your husband is growing tired of his demanding job (takes him away from home) and feels you need to contribute financially to the household so he can work less/find a new job?

Welcome to the board, Mommie24 ~

I agree with everything Sienna said and have nothing to add to it, except a flip-side thought for you to consider.

I think it is worth a try, especially with a husband to support you.

If your husband has a degree and is working in a field he enjoys, he may not understand how negatively you regard continuing your education.

Mommie24, I'm a little confused but perhaps this is due to cultural difference.

I wonder if you were ever tested for learning disabilities--I bet that 14 yrs ago, maybe people werent' thinking so much about that.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up. GED meant nothing to me, hence the confusion.
