WTH????

You have the money, the washer is dead - is there a particularly priced washer that would NOT set him off? If the washer was only $300 TOTAL would this not have caused a fight? (Mine was less than $300.)

Is it because it's not being spend on something just for him and his hobbies?

What other problems are you having in this marriage? Does this seem completely out of the blue as for his behavior?

I'm with Sienna on this: unless he is likely to become violent, just order the washer.

Instead of going without clean clothes until he caves, can't you guys discuss getting a less expensive model?

Did you guys discuss a price range and come to an agreement on what range you both thought was acceptable? If not, why not talk about it now?

I know you are saving $500 based on your research but it could still cost $1000.

Yes, my brother does have a nice working washing machine and dryer, and I can take my dog with me!

It's just so frustrating that I could already have done this deal today and have a washing machine tomorrow if he'd get his head out of his a**, but I know he'll end up dragging his feet, we'll lose the deal and then pay through the no$e..

This seems totally unreasonnable to me, if I were in your shoes I would do my laundry at my family's and leave it up to him to wash his own dirty clothes. pff

Welcome back, Stelmoqn ~

I'll be back shortly, but wanted to post your previous post for reference, to let others have more on your history and to give you the opportunity to reread your previous concerns and see how they stack up today. Rereading can be very helpful, you can often see the situation much differently than you did at the time, can recognize progress or lack of it, and can often see parallels to current problems as well. I hope it's as helpful for you as it is to most.
