I filed my H's divorce papers since his XW wasn't going to do anything about it.

I purchased a DIY book from the local bookstore for the state that I lived in.

If you are confident that your soon-to-be-ex won't contest anything, and you can both agree on all details, you can certainly fill out the paperwork and file it yourself... I do suggest that at the very least you schedule a consultation with an attorney to review your doucments before you sign them just to be sure that everything is in order.

Good luck!

I need to get mine right away also. Some of the internet divorces seem appealing . My concern is having regrets that I did not protect myself. I need to receive retirement benefits. We already sorted every thing else out. We have been separated way too long.

Thanks again for the advice everyone! I do think this is the way I'll go. I'll definately check to see if there are any Family Law faciliators here as well, I never would have thought to check for that.

On a side note, I thought we were going to be talking about divorce this weekend and it turned into him asking me to try some more. I don't want this but was completely unexpecting so agreed to give it more thought. I'm still sure he won't contest when I finally insist its what I want but now I have to work my nerve up to say it to him again! It was hard enough the first time.
