Apply for foodstamps while separated?

Without my husband's income, I qualify for WIC/foodstamps etc for me and my kids. Can I apply for this while separated or not until I am officially divorced? I was hoping maybe I could show a Separation Agreement or something? I thought maybe if we kept separate residences then I could apply without his income preventing me from getting it? Anyone know?

I applied for food stamps last week. I get 600 a month. I have an appointment for wic next month. I could not get tanf (300 a month) and cs(1400). I had to choose and cs comes out to be more.

Sun,

The only way to find out is to ask the people who know. Visit your local government assistance office and ask. By the way, I encourage everyone to get the help they need during separation and divorce. There's no shame in asking for help or accepting public assitance, especially if you've suffered the loss of financial support during separation and divorce. It doesn't mean you'll be a permanent recipient.

Good luck and let us know what you find out.
