H sent me an email telling me he wouldn't be able to pick the kids up this evening as we'd agreed to Wednesday. He suddenly "remembered" one of his employees is off tonight and he "might" have to work later. And then he said in his email, "I will pick up the

What you can tell him is something like

I agree...it is partially a control thing with my H. It's also an alcoholic thing I'm sure too. I'll give him that he doesn't drink around the kids (that I know of), so he probably knows he cannot go 2 nights without drinking (if he'd had the kids both Fri and Sat). I should give him a father of the year award, huh? ;)

It's so sad. I'm not proud, but I ended up driving by his work tonight. His car wasn't there at 7:15 p.m. So I drove to his favorite watering hole and yep, his car was there (a car he shouldn't even be driving except to work since he doesn't have a license). So I went in. He saw me coming and got up from the bar and met me 1/2 way across the bar. I just said to him, in a stern, somber voice, "This is the ONLY time you will ever stand my children up." The look on his face was shock. I'm sure he just couldn't believe I'd walked in there and he'd been caught in his own lies. But you know what? I'm tired of him thinking I'm an idiot. And I'm tired of him choosing alcohol over his children (even if it is a disease)

Thank you Buckeye. And it's alright that you laughed at it...the look was priceless, as I'm sure your X's would be also.

I didn't sleep much last night...maybe 4 hours. And my youngest was up at 5:45 -- I was already awake so it was alright. Then my older one was up and dressed by 6:40 ready to "see daddy." :(

I feel like I did what needed to be done last night. I don't regret it for a second. I only wish I'd had a snap shot of his face.

You took them there at 7:15 when you told him 10:30?

So my only update is H called me on my cell and told me he was going in and quitting his job Monday, then taking off. I just calmly said to him, "alright." And basically hung up.

He is pissed that he got caught by me Friday night in that bar. And even before that,

Sheesh, what a dirt bag!

He is probably just trying to make you feel guilty for HIS actions.

Good for you. I'm sure the judge would be really impressed if he quit his job to avoid paying child support. Around here, the judge would just base the c.s. on what he was making before he quit his job just to punish him. I would bet that he probably wouldn't be stupid enough to do that, he probably hoped to panic you. At least he knows that you're onto his lies now.
