Well, I had my consultation with the lawyer the other day. She felt very pushy and really didn't discuss any options and how other options could turn out. It was all, well with custody, it'll be this way, and equitable division of property will be this way, and I have a flat retainer fee of $1250. My goodness. I have heard from other people that it wasn't going to be that much. If it is, I can't afford to get divorced. I have a son to take care of. So it's back to the drawing board to find another attorney. This sucks. How many of you have had to go through numerous consults with different attorneys?? Just trying to get an idea of what I may be in for with the rest. It sucks living in a small town with few decent attorneys.

I met with an attorney today for a free consultation. However, when we file on Monday I'll have to give him a $3000 retainer and he'll be charging me at $300/hour. I called around and all the attorneys around here are charging the same amount. I live in So Cal where things tend to be expensive. I hope you find someone you like.
