just swing away, karen!!

you know, i really can't believe how much some of us have sacrificed for our husbands. i remember when ex and i were engaged ---- DS and i had been living in one town (sort of suburbia) and i was working there (which was a great feat cause there is a big lack of jobs there) and we had friends etc ---- and ex was like - we have to move to this or that place (really far away) because he once spent a vacation there, or because he MAY start a business and he MAY need a shipping dock or some sort of nonsense. but there i was --- driving with him to meet real estate agents and look at places in those towns. and yet, when I wanted to move out of the suburbs to the city where i now live (because i was working in the big city by this time and DS was going to school which meant that we both had to leave the house at 6ish; meanwhile ex was still "working" at home, still "trying" to start some kind of business) oyyyyyyyy....

hugs karen

First, congrats to Blake on his award! I was in marching band in high school (drummer and trumpet), and I loved it! So I always enjoy hearing band stories ;)

You bring up SUCH a good point about the things we

I'll add a smack with Joey's tee ball bat... and lots of congrats to your ds for a successful year and the recognition he received!

*hugs*

Oh gosh... when we moved to Northern suburbia our yard was so steep, and EX promised the moon that he'd help take care of it.... well, his idea of help usually was to pull into the drive just as I was finishing up.

And yes, it does amaze me when I look back at all of the accommodating that I did for him... and see how typical that really is.

Both moves for DS's school happened between school years, so we never moved him during a year.

You're right, though... always something to complain about.

Gratz to your son for his commitment and hard work! I know you are proud of him and happy he is in something positive which he enjoys and is getting some recognition for also!

>>>>>"And it's pretty clear that my EX still doesn't get the consequences of his actions."<
...in the case of my stbx, if I said that, it would be most charitable. I don't for a minute think he 'doesn't get it' --- I finally know that he does 'get it' but enjoys finding ways to put the responsibility on me, or others -- anyone but himself. He assumes a personna of "Mr. Responsibility" --- but spends a LOT of time verbalizing about how OTHER people are always doing wrong, making wrong choices and otherwise ARE just wrong.

Its a really long way down from his pretend-Ivory Tower, and he has never had any 'jump' lessons...its going to be a hard thump when karma arrives. Sad thing at this point, the extent to which he continues to be so righteous; actually continues to be very worrisome to me in regards to our children. Annah
