My kids haven't seen their dad much in the past 3 weeks.... he's going to school for his THIRD career (but claims to not make enough money to survive on..... another story!).

So, you're telling me it's not going to get better ;)

Big hugs Karen. I'm no where near as far into as you are, but I can relate about a little "air to breath" on my own. Phew. I've been 24/7 with the kids ALL summer (literally) except for that one weekend three weeks ago. I'm ready to buy my mom a plane ticket and fly her in for a little relief. Hang in there!

Thanks.... I guess it's not really *that bad*.... but gheez!

I do hate it for my kids tho.... I mean, the love him and want to spend *some* time with him.... but.... they also know him all too well and know when they've had enough and bail (have wheels... and gas... will travel!)

Least you got those 24 hours Karen! Remember, there's some of us that dont have that. My kids slept at exs house a few months ago--left here at 9pm, came home at 3pm.....and I had to work. I *never* get a weekend free...ever. I'd love to have some me time..

Now, I can call my ex and say "I need you to take the kids" but Jake's in the Marching band now and there's activities every weekend for the next 3-4 weeks. Not to mention, they want to be with their friends--which they cant do if they were with him.

SIghhh.....I *REALLY* wish we lived closer to each other!!!

HUGE hugs!!

I know.... I do have it pretty good :-)

Definitely wished we lived closer.... what a blast!

What's Jake playing?..... oh the marching band days.... football games, competitions.... (you know Zanna used to be in the marching band.... we've swapped some stories along the way about that).

Jake's just in 7th grade so their "marching band" only does 3 parades and one "thing" at the HS. He plays the snare drum....and he is AWESOME! Gave me the chills on Saturday! His goal is to be on the HS drum line in 9th grade (He'll do it). Here, the HS Band Director can ask Jake to play for them while he's in 8th grade too--so he said he's hoping for that as well.

(Oh and ex did not show up for his first parade on Saturday.....).....

Karen, if I were your kid, I'd think that your breathing was fun!!!!! And I KNOW that you do fun things all the time, especially recently. *grin*

It's just really too bad that these men can't get shear joy out of just BEING with their kids....... Because it seems to ME that even when their children ARE with them, they're doing something else...... studying, reading emails, working.....

He's seen it and has memorized that movie! That's what his goal is.....

He is so talented. Everything he touches-he's golden. Baseball: All stars. Gymnastics: Boys coach wanted him to compete on a team 2 yrs older than him. Basketball: All stars. Drums: #2 drummer--behind #1 drummer who is an 8th grader. Someone recently asked me "Is there anything that kid cant do? or isn't good at??"

Dont get me wrong, oldest son is good at things too--but he works a bit harder at it then youngest. I wonder where my youngest got these genes from?? Certainly not me or the ex!!!
