I've been at my lowest of lows filing for bankruptcy and struggling financially. My bankruptcy lawyer suggested I apply for reduced school lunches since I have four kids. I wasn't sure I would make the income guidelines since I'm a nurse, but the income guidelines are very generous. I was able to get a reduced price from 1.75 a day to .40 a day, that's going to save me a HUGE amount of money. I've been spending almost $40 a week plus buying groceries.
I also got a nice big surprise in my paycheck this week. It's my yearly anniversary and operating room nurses get a $1,000 a year bonus for hazard pay. I had forgotten all about that. They taxed the heck out of it so I only ended up with $600, but I was able to pay extra on my oil bill and pay my car payment, plus I can stock up a little on food.

I am tickled for you to get a little financial relief! I know many of us here understand that feeling. The children don't understand when he takes them fun places, then you buy them school shoes...but in the big picture, we are taking care of needs, and we will be able to share some of the 'wants' with them eventually. Hopefully we can bring our own careers/jobs/incomes gain over the years til whatever supposed child support money they deem to get around 'giving' us, can just be put aside for the kids later. Thats what I will work toward; I so, so hate being dependent upon our very food and/or rent as to when or if he 'feels' like giving us the checks, or if he 'thinks' his company has earned enough that particular pay period to pay him, if not, he simply doesn't pay. Yet, other things seem able to be paid for, fun stuff, and luxuries.
Take a deep breath and enjoy that feeling of relief for a few minutes! *Hugs*, Anna
