Did anyone do Couples Counseling...

Did anyone do Couples Counseling after they were separated, before they filed for divorce?
Was it an attempt to re-build?
Was it useful in achieving a peaceful divorce?
Was it a total waste of time?
Any other comments?

We did counseling years ago and it was a waste of time.

We went to so much counseling that we were told we were counseled out. There were a few times when my ex didn't like the things that we were talking about (usually the past) and he would get up and leave.

Counseling was a waste of time, not nessasary for me, but for him. Because he would not tell the truth and would lie right in front of our church counselor. (I COULDN'T BELEIVE IT)

I beleive it does work for some couples. But like the other post said you have to be BRUTALLY HONEST, else yor just wasting your time and money.

Welp, my husband and I are still going.... one more session asctually. And the marriage is still over. Sad but true. I do like the fact that it does make you know you are doing the right thing. And he still can't tell me what's wrong, or wrong with me, or wrong with the marriage. i still have no frikin clue as to what the hell happened. I just couldn't take the coldness from him anymore, and said I want a divorce, he bacially siad "cool"!! An affair right??
