Hi there,
Great question! No - I did not use medication, but thinking back on it now, of course hind site, I probably could have used something. I'm not sure how I got through it, it took a whole year to be completly free and I had to live in the same house with him. Most of that year is a blur. I had to sleep on the sofa in the living room for a whole year,I changed jobs, lost 20 lbs, and went house hunting every weekend, just so I wouldn't have to be around him. WOW!
So now that I think back I could have used something to at least help me sleep. To this day, 1 1/2 years since it's been final, I still don't sleep well. But otherwise the rest of my life is terrific!!!

I was treated for PPD after Joey was born... once everything started happening separation wise, one of the first calls I made was to my doctor who had helped me previously... the meds certainly didn't make it all go away, but they did what they were supposed to do, make it easier to cope with the situation at hand...

I've never really used prescription meds, but I do take nutritional & herbal supplements, one of which is a stress formula. It has chamomile and lavender in it, and it does help with stress. I also take an amino acid called Seriphos on occasion, which is super-helpful with stress caused cortisol levels.

During the divorce, I did not use any medication. I had used it several years earlier during the marriage. I was very depressed, largely because of the state of my marriage, and I went on Prozac. During that time, I started having panic attacks while on the medication - this happens to VERY few people on it - lucky me! I went on an anti-anxiety med for a short period of time, and it really helped me.

We tried it. It didnt work unfortunately. Ex was surprisingly verbally abusive, even called me a b. At that point I started to see him as a different person. So that was that. But Im all for mediation, I believe it both are willing it can work.

I was taking xanax before the seperation due to anxiety about what was going on in my marriage and over a year later im still on it.Im very high strung and cant imagine how I would be handling this divorce and the crap my stbx is doing if I wasnt taking it.Im not a person big on taking medication but my dr said that I should really take something and Im really glad I did.I only take 1 pill with a low dosage a day or on a really bad day a pill and a half.
