I am PROUDLY wearing my oval "I VOTED" sticker smack in the middle of my chest.

My only regret is that I don't live in Durham, NC andd wasn't able to vote in the District Attorney's race where Mike Nifong is running against a guy who doesn't want the job anymore. Mike Nifong, for those of you who don't know, is the Durham DA who is prosecuting 3 Duke lacrosse players for the rape of a girl he never met or interviewed.

I early voted... and it's a good thing because the new coverage of the polls today is insane.

We got nothin' big. Though now that I think about it, I got to vote against a guy I know and dislike. When you're running for public office, you BEST learn how to smile at everyone and greet them! Unpleasantness doesn't get you any votes!

That's true!

I was just skimming over the news, and poll lines here have been so long that poll workers are joking about wishing that they had those oval stickers that say "I wanted to vote!"

*L* I can't WAIT to see the national news tonight about your elections! I think people would keel over and die here if that many people turned out to vote!

I went 40 minutes after the polls opened and I was #44. That might have something to do with the fact that they have all the OLD PEOPLE manning the polls and I can read my name upside down quicker than they can find it on the page!

The precincts are slowly "reporting".... there were some delays with their new, fastER (LOL!) computer polling machines, so the poll times were extended in some places... AND... as long as you were in line by the time the poll closed, you could vote.

And I love how they phrase those referendums.... it's all negative stuff... like....

Do you want to not have the choice of where you eat dinner?

And you think, YES! (I want the choice) WAIT! NO! I DON'T want to NOT have the choice!

Heck I just confused myself again!

Absolutely! It was cold and rainy and I had to stand in line for more than an hour, but it was so worth it. I wouldn't have been able to sleep tonight if I hadn't.

I think the only people who voted on this survey are the ones who voted at the polls!!! LOL!! I cannot believe the overwhelming number of people who did NOT vote. We are at war with another nation to help others win the freedom to do what we won't even do on our own with no harrassment!! So sad.
