I have really struggled with this...

I know where you're coming from because I was raised Catholic and noone in my family got divorced, although a couple of cousins married divorced guys.

I think that God gives us the knowledge and understanding... and common sense to know when we've given it "our all" to try to make it work.... but God doesn't expect us to sit around and be miserable because... things DO change...

I think that as long as you aren't looking for the easy out.... you've tried and it still doesn't feel like it should... God isn't going to hold it against you because you WANT/DESERVE TO BE HAPPY and you've tried to make things work and they didn't.

The commitment is to stick together... life happens, people change... and you definitely can't determine what your spouse is going to do (as far as being honorable to the same said "commitment").

Be at peace with yourself with your decisions, make them well thought out... and God will accept it.

I too am facing a divorce. My husband claims to be a Christian, but he has forgotten about his vows to God and me.
