Divorce by publication

Well...my ad was in yesterdays paper - one down three to go. My question is - since I coulen't afford a lawyer - they told me if he doesn't protest (and he's on crystal meth I found out yesterday) so I don't expect him to complain - then again he left ME. Anyway they had told me that if I counted forward from the day the last publication comes out which would be on November 21st - then I could count forward 15 days and I should be able to get in the December 13th court date. But in the paper it says that he has 60 days from the date of order of publication which was October 26th. Which sure wouldn't make it in time for the December court. Does anyone have any expertise in this? If I could have afforded the 1500.00 lawyer fee I would have someone to answer these questions. Do you think when I was at the court house the day I paid to have the papers filed that they made a mistake when they said count forward 15 days from the date of the last publication. (I pray they were right). Found out my STBX is living only about 18 miles from here and is coming to town every night about 2:00 a.m. - means he has to be coming right by my house - the other woman is with him too.. If you read all my other posts you will remember the details of our situation. Thanks for your help.

Call your courthouse and see if they have any of the free legal help days. Many places do that!!
Good luck!

I have no expertise, but I just wanted to say I am thinking of you! I really hope that things go well and you can soon put this all behind you. Hang in there, and keep us posted.

I agree with ipleadthe5th Call the court clerk back and ask for clarification.
