My guess would be that it would partly depend of how the inheritance was gifted.... if it was just, specifically in one name, or in both names.

don't know specifically about ny but i am in nj and as long as the inheritance was left only to you AND you did not co-mingle it with joint assets, it is not a marital property.

I agree about the co-mingling of assets.... it does make a difference if you left it in an account and didn't use any of it.
