Just wondering how many out there are dealing with the absent parent over-compensating with kid(s).


My stbx only sees our son between 3 & 5 hours

I'm bracing myself for this...H makes more than double what I do. And I already see me as the no-nonsense parent...out of necessity. H isn't going to tell our children to pick up their underware or put their dishes by the sink. He can't/won't/doesn't do that himself. And I'm the one standing over our oldest, trying to keep the focus on the homework. And I'm the one that makes them clean up their room or the play room. It's

I'm the one that's always telling him to do his homework, brush his teeth, straighten his room, and so on.


Here's good old Dad buying him gifts and taking him to movies.

The bike situation seems very unfair - much like you described, your STBX tried to compensate for not being around.
