Filing a response??
| Sat, 03-10-2007 - 10:00pm |
So I was reading my papers and my STBX claims that we only have 200 dollars in assets together. Our x-box is worth 250 alone plus our bed and TV and other kitchen stuff and couches. I dont know how to go about filing the papers. I have no CLUE where to start. :( any advice BTW I am on state aid and I only get 340 a month so paying someone is really out of the option.

If you google your state and the form name that you received, you will probably be able to find the response form online. You can also call your county court house and ask which forms you need to file in order to respond.
BTW, the value of your items are based on what they would be worth now if you sold them, not what they were worth when you bought them.
In the end, it's not going to matter how many breaths you took, but how many moments took your breath away

You might want to check with your local courthouse to see if they have facilitators or workshops for family law. Some courts offer advice on filling out the forms for people representing themselves. You can file a response without an attorney, and should file one, otherwise the divorce is set as being 'default', meaning you are going along with the his original filing, and whatever he asked for is what happens (within legal guidelines).
