Frustrated, kids & groceries

I went grocery shopping yesterday and bought over $100 worth of groceries, the second time in less than a week! I got up this morning to find all the little wrappers from the snacks I bought for school all over my teenage daughter's room. Those packages were enough for them to have their school snacks for the rest of the week. Now they have NOTHING. I have a bag of apples and cereal that they will have to take with no drink. They drank all the juice boxes too.

I am so frustrated because now they won't have anything to eat for after school either. I may make some cookies and hide them and leave out what they can have after school. It just really upsets me because I HID the stuff and they knew I was hiding it and ate it anyway. My daughter is overweight and does not need to be eating all that at once and she knows it.

what is really going to cause problems is that they will go to their father and say I'm not feeding them. He knows better, but he will feed into it.

They ate all the treats, so you made them some more? I don't get it. It should be raw carrots and celery for them, for awhile at least. Hon, I think YOU should eat all the cookies, LOL!

When we hit our teens, my oldest bro would empty the entire kitchen within hours after my mom did her Saturday shopping. Sis and I just had to starve or get jobs. We got jobs. Is this the scenario you and your kids will be facing? Good luck with that snack-sneeker of yours.

My oldest son has a paperroute so he buys a lot of stuff that he wants to eat himself. I made cookies and hid them so they would have something to get through the week. I hid them on top of the refrigerator!!!

There have been some really good ideas that I'm going to implement this week. Thanks guys!!

you have to do what is right fo ryour children, regardless of what their father may think about you. if your children ate up a week's worth of snacks in one day - then that was their choice and those were their snacks for the week. under no circumstances would i make a batch of cookies to compensate. because this way - what will they learn? it is our job to teach our kids the natural order of things: actions =

Oh I know that the kids do need to learn. It's just difficult when all they have to do is complain to their father and he buys into it even though he knows better.
