Getting Rid of Wedding Ring

Hi. I was just wondering how some of you handled getting rid of your wedding ring after divorce or did you even get rid of it? How did it make you feel if you did get rid of it?

I finally just sold mine to a pawn shop yesterday to help me move on with my life. I wasn't even concerned about the money, I just wanted the thing out of my house so I can really move on with my life. I have been divorced for a year, so I felt like it was time. I found myself feeling happy after getting rid of the ring yesterday and then today I got sad. I guess now I know it really is over for good, since my ring is gone. I'm feeling pretty depressed but also at the same time hopeful about the future since I took a big step by getting rid of the ring.

Thanks for listening!

Well my engagement ring was the diamond from my mother's/grandmothers ring, my grandmother passed it to my mother when she got married and my mother passed it to me when I got married so I had the diamond taken out and put back into my grandmother's original setting and had that restored, then I took my setting and had a sapphire that cost me 600 bucks put in and it's GORGEOUS!!!

As far as my wedding band, I have done nothing with it, I wanted to get my husbands and sell it as a set but he wanted to keep it for "sentimental reasons" so he said, I personally think he was just cheap and wanted to use it for when he married his mistress. LOL

So my wedding band still just sits in my jewelry box but there is a jewelry shop in my hometown that buys gold I may be able to sell it to them. THey'll just melt it down. Good idea...I could use the money.

Smile,

Deirdre
