Hey everyone...

I just wanted to take a minute and wish my online friends here a Happy Valentine's Day... this isn't the easist of holidays, so I wanted to let you know that I'm thinking of you and sending a hug your way!

My little Joey was so excited about the card and candy he got for me, that he had to give it to me tonight... He was so cute about it... Mommy, close your eyes, I have a surprise for you!!!

In honor of Valentine's Day, I encourage everyone to do something for themselves over the next few days... Don't forget to post and tell us what it is... whether it is a manicure, haircut, a couple of hours of shameless TV time, reading time, a nice cup of coffee or enjoying a beautiful sunrise or sunset, share the joy!

*hugs*

Thank you, Julie! It really lifted my spirits to read something so upbeat and happy. I've been feeling a bit down in the dumps lately and that helped. I'll try to do something fun today. It's so scheduled with work, errands at lunch, piano lesson transportation, but I do have my book club meeting tonight, so that's something to look forward to. My girls are with their dad this week, so I can't spend the evening with them, unfortunately. I gave them a card and gift(made them some earrings) on Sunday. I'll try to improve my mental outlook.

Last night my DD had a homemade card and construction paper flower waiting for me on my bed. This morning I decorated the breakfast table with helium baloons and a little heart-shaped box of candy for DD and DS.

DS wouldn't let go of his balloon (he's nearly 2). We had to take it with us this morning when we left the house.

I'm taking a couple hours off from work today to do the homeroom mom thing at DD's school.

Tonight will be nice for my kids. STBX will be working at his restaurant. DD asked me weeks ago if we could eat dinner at daddy's restaurant on Valentine's Day. I thought about it a little and decided that I could handle it if it was a family dinner that included grandparent's as well. So I invited my parents and STBX's parents as well. My parents and FIL will be joining us (MIL never likes to eat out).

I have been trying to be in an upbeat mood today but for me not only is it valentines day but also our 18th anniversary. We have been seperated for 10 months and still no divorce. I was doing pretty well not thinking about what he will be doing with gf tonight but as the day goes on its getting harder not to. I also got a call from my lawyer today after all this time of nothing about how we have a notice of hearing on March 10th. I know this is what I want but hearing about a court date today of all days has really brought me down. Sorry to be such a downer and I will try and take your advise and do something nice for myself but I dont know what that will be.

Thanks Julie!

This year is easier than last year....I guess what everyone has told me is true...it just takes time :o)

Instead of wishing for diamonds or anything ...I bought myself....ROCKS!

Karen....

If I get to deal with that nonsense once Joey starts regular school, I will have to come unglued... I cannot believe the nonsense that teacher gave you... sounds like she may need to find another career because teaching is apparently not her thing!

I was meeting with one of my managers today when her xh called to wish her a happy valentine's day... I gave them some privacy cause I could tell it was a personal call but was shocked when she told me it was her xh of more than 10 years... I will have to admit though, that call provided a nice opportunity to talk about something other than work (she's new to our dept and we're still in that getting to know you stage)...

I am happy to announce that xh did not call me today for any reason... other than paying some child support, it is the best present he could have given me! lol... and he may be coming into town to see Joey while I'm out of town on business... I am so sorry that we'll miss each other... OK, I better stop now before I LOL and wake Joey up!

Hope that you had a great day!

Thanks Brenda... I hope that you had a nice day today... It was a pretty day here today... not as cold as it has been the past couple of days, but crisp and clear... a nice February day... I felt like someone was smiling on me today...

*hugs*

Cupcake,

I just want to say thank you for letting me know that I helped raise your spirits some... I feel really good knowing that I've helped you in some way... so thank you for letting me know...

I hope that today has turned out better than you expected and that you get through this little slump you're in now... I understand how your schedule can keep you from doing some things you wanted to do... I started panicking after Joey gave me the card and chocolate last night because (I've been a bad mom) I hadn't gotten him a card or anything... and worked from 8:30 to 6:30 today...

This is when I'm really glad that I buy stuff and put it away though, because I found a brand new astronaut rescue hero (Fisher Price) in my trunk when I got home... wasn't wrapped and I didn't have a card (both things typically bug me) but to see his face light up when he saw his new rescue hero I kenw it was perfect...

Sending lots of hugs your way...

Julie
