Happy Valentine's Day

Hey everyone...
I just wanted to take a minute and wish my online friends here a Happy Valentine's Day... this isn't the easist of holidays, so I wanted to let you know that I'm thinking of you and sending a hug your way!
My little Joey was so excited about the card and candy he got for me, that he had to give it to me tonight... He was so cute about it... Mommy, close your eyes, I have a surprise for you!!!
In honor of Valentine's Day, I encourage everyone to do something for themselves over the next few days... Don't forget to post and tell us what it is... whether it is a manicure, haircut, a couple of hours of shameless TV time, reading time, a nice cup of coffee or enjoying a beautiful sunrise or sunset, share the joy!
*hugs*
Julie

Well, ya better brace yourself..... we've had some really great teachers along the way.... and some that it just took every ounce of my being to work with them to get through the year.

Wow... I can only imagine what you're going through with all of this going on today... I told my now xh that I didn't want to get married on Valentine's day, just in case... so what did I do? pick a day really close to Christmas... that was smart...
Anyway... I'm thinking of you and sending you stay strong vibes... it's not easy, but it will get easier with time... even though that probably doesn't help so much right now...
Please let us know how you're doing...
*hugs*

Hey there Lexi...
Always great to see you! You're right... it does get better with time... which is some of the best and hardest things... cause there really isn't anything that you can do to get time to pass faster sometimes... but it does continue to improve, so one day at a time...
Sounds like you're busy getting your place in order... I've picked out the paint and purchased the fabric, but haven't done anything beyond that yet... am waiting for a better (warmer, have all the windows open) kind of day...
My day was a normal Tuesday... Joey crawled into my bed sometime last night, so I woke up snuggling my JoeyBear and took the time for a few extra snuggles in honor of Valentine's Day... after all, he is my favorite boy! Then it was time for school and work for me... I worked all day, went to lunch late and finally made it home... but I'm here now and am looking forward to my last every other Wednesday off tomorrow...
I'm thinking of picking Joey up early from school and taking him to a movie or something as a special Mommy-Joey treat... after I get my nails filled in of course!
Joey... he's doing much better... seems back to normal... he never complained of a sore throat with his strep, which is a blessing. I believe that the strep manifested in the form of the skin rash that he had last Sunday... but I'm glad it did, or else I may not have realized he had strep to begin with (low grade fever of 99 didn't raise much attention)... He loves his medicine... call's it yummy doctor bubblegum stuff... which is different from regular bubble gum medicine which he swears is disgusting mommy... just wait till he has the pleasure of Robitussin one day... Thanks for asking though, he's doing great!
*hugs*

Fortunately, I have one more year before the "real" school starts... well, kinda... Joey will be starting pre-K in the fall... missed the cut off by six weeks here in GA, but truthfully, I think it is a good thing... when he was younger (less than a year), I used to think that I would try to get him in early, etc, but I think waiting a year will be a good thing for him as he is a bit more hyper and harder to focus...
I am trying to get him into our local elem school... keep your fingers crossed for me... the pre-K lottery is 3/30 and there will be 20 open spaces... if he makes it, there is only 1 school transition to have to worry about in the near future as this will be his elem school next fall regardless and is $150 less per week than the private daycare with a pre-K program I'm also considering... not to mention that the elem school is 0.5 miles away from the house and the other is 5 miles (opposite of the direction I go to get to work), so it has a lot of winning points... I did get a chance to briefly meet the teacher a couple of weeks ago and like her... hopefully, if he gets in, my opinion will stay the same...
*hugs*

I definitely have my fingers crossed, and I think that a pre-K program will be very good for Joey.

Well he ended up not liking it which is okay. We've always been honest with each other. He wasn't going to tell me at first but I made him anyway. He has always had his fantasy girl be a brunette(SP?). So I was trying to make it come true. Turns out he wants that to stay a fantasy and would prefer the blonde back.
I guess I agree. It was fun to try it though. (It also turned out more to the red side than I wanted.) Thanks this was a fun post.

OK... I just e mailed Brooke's teacher her final opportunity to justify her previous explanation before I get her "administration" involved (makes me glad that I've been involved with the PTSO and some other school activities, so they "know" me).

I did a couple of things for myself and JoeyBear today... I...
Got my nails done...
Picked Joey up from school early and took him to see Curious George which he loved... so cute....
And bought season one of Grey's Anatomy, which I have recently realized is a shameless pleasure for me... I rarely get to catch it on TV as Sunday nights can be a bit hectic, but when I do, I love it... and it was on sale at Target today...
