He's fighting for custody

I just got the papers today.

He is 40 years old, has 4 DUI's, 6 inpatient treatment (for alcoholism) stays, domestic violence and child abuse on his record. I have nothing. Yet, he is fighting for shared custody. He spends little or no time with the children. Wouldn't be able to tell you who their friends are, their teachers, hasn't been to any parent-teacher conferences, after school events, doctor appointments, hair cuts, clothes shopping....

Yet he is fighting for custody. OMG

Just gonna cost me more $$ and anxiety. Great. Sigh.

Technically he is not fighting for full or sole custody he is fighting for 50/50.

In my experience dealing with divorces it seems that women fight for full/sole custody and men fight for 1/2. I have often wondered why that is.

Well, he's got a sweet track record on board already, but it wouldn't hurt to ask the teachers, doctors, etc. to write letters stating that you are their primary contact... and that they've never met him.

I think that his request will be put to bed pretty quickly, so don't let it get to you in the meantime.

Remember..... his actions have landed where he is right now.
