I went to the post office the other day to get holiday stamps to mail my cards out. I ran into X while I was there-- he was also mailing some cards out. While I was affixing my postage, I commented to him, "oh, you're sending out some cards". He replied, "I usually send cards out at Christmas". I just stood there, dumbstruck. Every year, since 1986, *I* was the one to send out the holdiay cards (plus the birthday and anniversary cards)-- 75% of them to HIS relatives (some of them I've never even MET before, and wouldn't know them from Adam if I ran into them on the street). And for the past 4 years that we had the storage, he'd *suggest* to me that I send cards to each of our customers. Handwritten cards ONLY, "and by the way, put in a personalized note in each card", and "oh, also send cards out with the handwritten, personalized note to past customers, NOT just the current ones". Which meant an extra 40-60 or so on top of the 50-60 I already sent out to his family.
So I guess because HE suggested to ME to write out the Xmas cards, then in his pea-brain that means that HE actually spent 2 weeks preparing all the holiday mailings. Ah ha.
I wonder if he sent the handwritten notes out to the customers this year? I'll have to ask him.

I can't read my own handwriting... so that was never an issue for us.
